CEAH Writing Accountability Groups
- Need time and space to write that article or book manuscript?
- Looking for a quiet place to work on that grant proposal?
Would you like to network with colleagues while also furthering your scholarship?
Join a CEAH Writing Accountability Group!
These in-person writing groups are open to ISU faculty who are specifically working on writing-intensive projects related to the arts, design, and the humanities.
Writing groups will consist of approximately 4 members who are each committed to participating in at least 8 of their group’s 10 weekly writing sessions. Each group will be facilitated by CEAH Director, Matthew Sivils.
Groups meet once a week for a two-hour session held at the CEAH Space in ISU’s Parks Library (084). Each session begins with a 15-minute check-in during which members share their writing goals for that session. Then each member selects one of the CEAH’s secluded writing areas and writes in silence for an hour and a half. (We have a range of desk options, including office desks, a conference table, and even a couple of standing desks). After an hour and a half of silent writing, members briefly regroup to share their progress for the session and to set goals for the next one. It’s that simple.
This semester we will sponsor two CEAH Writing Accountability Groups. These groups will meet at the following times.
- Group 1 will meet on Tuesdays 1-3pm, February 6 to April 16.
- Group 2 will meet on Wednesdays 8-10am, February 7 to April 17.
Location: ISU’s Parks Library (084)
Coffee and tea will be available. And our space is housed within a quiet, low-distraction room.
