The inaugural Digital Scholarship Symposium was held on April 10, 2024, in The Catalyst, the dedicated digital research and learning space in ISU's Parks Library. The event was cohosted by the Iowa State University Library Digital Scholarship and Initiatives department and the Center for Excellence in the Arts and Humanities (CEAH).
The symposium, cosponsored by the Obermann Center for Advanced Studies at the University of Iowa, featured two panel discussions:
- "Digital Scholarship Pedagogy: Expanding Digital Literacy and Creativity in the Classroom"
- "Public Digital Scholarship: Community Impact Through Digital Projects"
The panels were composed of expert faculty and librarians from Iowa State and the University of Iowa. They discussed creative examples of developing digital literacy skills in the classroom and using digital methods to open research to a wider audience.
