Arts & Humanities Faculty Forum
An initiative by CEAH's interim director, Dr. Sarah Kyle, this event was the first one of CEAH's Fall events. CEAH invited representatives from Humanities Iowa and the Iowa Arts Council, Heather Plucar (Executive Director, Humanities Iowa), Grace Altenhofen (Communications and Grants Director, Humanities Iowa) and David Schmitz (Director, Iowa Arts Council) along with Sandra Norvell (Grant Coordinator, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and College of Design).
Faculty from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and from the College of Design joined the event for a discussion on navigating the landscapes of arts and humanities funding in Iowa. This open forum was an opportunity for faculty to share challenges, explore solutions, and connect with the representatives. Important issues such as funding opportunities for term faculties were brought up and discussed. The event also opened doors for further collaboration between the Humanities Iowa and Iowa Arts Council and CEAH.

CEAH Fall Lecture: The Work We Do Together: Scholars as Partners Within and Beyond the University
The Center for Excellence in the Arts and Humanities hosted its Fall lecture with Dr. Andrew Klumpp from the Historical Society of Iowa as the speaker. Dr. Klump gave a talk focusing on bridging the divide between scholars working at universities and public programs happening beyond the university. This event was especially impactful for the faculty and students working in or interested in community-engaged research and in extension/outreach opportunities for the Liberal Arts & Design.
